Five Nights Jump-Scares the Box Office

Everyone’s favorite killer animatronics hit theaters on October 27th in the new “Five Nights at Freddy’s movie”. The movie tied with “Black Widow” in terms of box office earnings in its first release weekend. The movie grossed a shocking $80 million beating out other Peacock and Universal hybrid movies such as “Halloween Kills” ($49 Million) and “Halloween Ends” ($40 Million). Surprisingly the critics reviews were down as low as 25% on rotten tomato, but the fans thought otherwise giving it an “A-” on CinemaScore. It was also a record setter for the makers of the film, Blumhouse, being their highest grossing opening-weekend movie. The movie features Josh Hutcherson as its main character working at a run-down family entertainment Center called “Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza”. Just like the hit video game it’s based off of, this movie adaption also features the all-star, bloodlusting, animatronics who are back to scare its new and returning fans of the series. Shawn Robbins, chief analyst at BoxOffice Pro, described the movie and series as a whole as “a cult classic over the past decade with a young and passionate fanbase that represents an important segment of the up-and-coming generation of moviegoers.”
