Colonels Bend but Don’t Break on HoCo Night

Story by James Murphy

Last night the HCHS Colonel Boys Basketball Team faced off against the Union County Braves, winning 52-43. The Colonels lost the turnover battle while still putting up an incredible victory against the Braves. The refs seemed to not be on the Colonels’ side last night, calling several off-the-wall fouls. Junior Cooper Davenport led the team in points with 16. Senior Yusef Sonogo-Kendrick had multiple insane blocks as the crowd cheered his name. Senior Elijah Suggs led the team in rebounds and tied other teammates with steals and blocks. In an interview with Junior Lacon McKinney, he spoke on team performance and the Colonel atmosphere at the boys' and girls' basketball games.
